'People are intimidated' - why 'juggernaut' Arsenal are the side to defeat.

There's little doubt why Arsenal stand as numerous fans' favorites to claim the Premier League in the current campaign.

Examine their performances against Newcastle and Crystal Palace in contrast with those equivalent matches last season.

The Gunners have defeated all of them in the current season, but surrendered 10 points across those games as they dropped off in the title race previously.

Impenetrable Defense

Arsenal's backline resilience is a key reason why they are looking well positioned to finally fulfil their title ambition.

They lead the league for unbreached games (6), goals allowed (3), opposition efforts (72), quality opportunities against (19) and anticipated concessions (5.3).

The defensive partnership of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the finest in the league, with Arsenal keeping a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Excellence

Their threat from set-pieces is highly documented, but competing clubs still don't know how to neutralize the Gunners from these chances.

They have registered 11 times from set-pieces in the league, two more than any other side, with 69% of their goals resulting from these situations.

"Arsenal can excel in various aspects now. The whole team has a daunting aura. People are just wary of them and it is excellent to see."

Championship Credentials

What is even more impressive about Arsenal's commencement to the campaign is they have also encountered Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United on the road and Manchester City in their own stadium - and are still leading by four at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their traditional rivals are struggling. This marks the first time at this point of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The scrutiny was on manager Mikel Arteta at the start, having invested around £250m on eight summer signings in pursuit of that elusive first title since 2004.

But the business has so far paid off in impressive fashion, with his side one of the most prolific attacks in the league and boasting the tightest defense, despite several injuries.

  • Clean sheets in three straight Premier League games
  • Over six hours without conceding a goal
  • Only three goals in 12 games across all competitions

Former players and analysts have described Arteta's men as a "juggernaut, looking hard to stop" with the whole club now operating with conviction and resolve.
