Travis Head Made Contact to Ben Duckett After Social Media Clip Criticism

Cricket players Travis Head and Ben Duckett in play

Head and Duckett have been on opposing sides in the recent Ashes series.

Aussie opener Travis Head disclosed that he reached out to England fellow opener Ben Duckett following a online footage circulated purportedly showing the batter in a drunken state before the MCG Test.

Reports suggested that members of the squad were consuming significant amounts of alcohol during a break in the beach town of Noosa between the second and third Tests.

One unconfirmed video sparked increased examination on the squad and on Duckett personally.

"I have a good relationship with Ducky and reached out to see if he was going alright," commented Head.

"Everyone is still human. What you do in your own time is your own business.

"I know we live a high profile life and certain individuals are more high profile than others.

"Ultimately, it is a somewhat unfair but I don't think there is any real issue."

Background of the Event

The team's four nights in Noosa followed they had fallen 2-0 down in the Ashes series following defeats in the first two Tests.

Several media outlets reported that some players were consuming alcohol for a significant portion of their time on the Queensland coast, as well as on two previous days in Brisbane.

Though they produced an improved showing in the next Test, they lost in Adelaide to concede the series to Australia.

Head's Perspective

Speaking after England's victory in the fourth Test, Head added: "I felt envious.

"Everyone has blown it out of proportion than what it should have been.

"We have done the same thing on earlier trips. I don't have an problem with it."
