Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Died in a Los Angeles Car Crash
The visionary game developer, who helped create the globally famous franchise Call of Duty, has tragically died in a traffic collision in the state of California at the age of 55.
The tragic news was announced by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the video game company which he helped establish.
The influential video game developer died after his automobile collided and burst into flames on a motorway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday, US media outlets report.
"This is a devastating loss, and our hearts are with Vince's family, his loved ones, and the countless individuals inspired by his creative vision," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts commented.
